Paxos, Antipaxos And The Blue Caves (Village Of Gaios)

The departing view of Corfu harbour gives a fantastic view of the old town and its two Venetian fortresses. As we head south, we see the Kanoni peninsula and the Palace of Mon Repos (the birthplace of Prince Phillip). We pass the tourist resorts of Perama, Benitses, the village of Kavos, and Corfu's southernmost point, the cape of Asprokavos.

Approaching the channel between Corfu and Paxos, you have a magnificent view of the olive and cypress trees covering the lush island of Paxos. Legend tells that Poseidon made Paxos by severing the tip of Corfu with a mighty blow of his trident. He then dragged it south to create an idyllic retreat for his great love, Amphitrite. Poseidon's marble palace – as legend has it – was located in Ahai, one of the blue caves of Paxos.

As we come near Paxos, the traditional unspoiled village of Lakka comes into view on the north side of the island. We continue sailing south along the west coast, enjoying the impressive rocky coastline and the unique white sandy beaches. Next, the boat enters the breath-taking sea caves, whose clear blue waters will leave you speechless.

Paxos, Antipaxos, and surroundings are included in the European initiative ΝΑΤURΑ 2000, a network of nature protection areas.

We leave the caves and arrive at the tiny but beautiful island of Antipaxos. Its sandy blue-water coves have been compared to those in the Caribbean. Here, you will have time to swim in the crystal waters of "Paradise beach" (Voutoumi).

We return to Paxos from the east side of the island and see the isles of Skaltsonisi and Mongonisi. We sail alongside the narrow channel of Paxos and the islets of Panagia and Agios Nikolaos and dock in the centre of the picturesque port of Gaios village. You will have time for a walk through the picturesque narrow streets, visit the souvenir shops and enjoy lunch at one of the traditional tavernas.

Throughout your trip, you are free to enjoy the sun and purchase refreshments from the bar.

We look forward to sharing this unforgettable experience with you.
